I really love how relaxing the classes are, after a busy day at work.  I get to unwind and relax. 

​

My reason for joining pilates was because of permanent back pain.  Now, I have exercises to help me deal with this, but even better, my back pain has lessened.  I’ve got far more movement than I used to have and I also feel more toned all over.

​

Anna is a great instructor, very calm and patientand encouraging.

​

The thing I like most is the fact that all the exercises can be modified to suit every person in the class.  Anna knows my problem area and will make suggestions accordingly.

I really enjoy Pilates with Anna – the classes are small enough to have individual advice and attention. I joined after a back injury convinced me I needed to work on my core.

The difference has been incredible, I am now so much more aware of how I position myself and how I can support my back. I did have initial reservations about the cost and the amount of ‘exercises’ I would get from the classes, but I am happy to say they are very good value for money.

These classes are also a good workout for the essential muscles,which protect my back and keep me mobile and pain free."

"Supportive small classes"

The pilates classes are great for building core strength and improving general fitness and wellbeing.

 
I was concerned about joining a Pilates class as I have had extensive abdominal surgery which has left my core strength and my fitness somewhat depleted!!  I discussed my medical history with Anna and she gave me a taster session to see if her classes would suit me.  I am delighted to say that they do!!
 
Anna's Pilates class is improving my posture, muscle tone and balance, as well as helping to relieve tension.

I’ve suffered from low back pain for a while now and decided to try Anna’s Pilates classes to see if they would help. The classes are small, which I really like, as I get more one to one attention.   Anna takes the time to explain the exercise and makes sure everyone understands what is required.

Since doing pilates, I have seen a marked improvement in my posture and so far have not experienced any further back pain. As a result of Anna’s classes, I already feel confident that I will be able to counteract any discomfort in the future.

The class sizes are small which means you get the help and guidance needed.

Since starting pilates I have noticed that I am able to do many tasks much more easily i.e. squatting and lifting large piles of plates out of the cupboard.

I was completely new to pilates, so was unsure of what to expect, regarding class size, venue and content of class.  However I like the small and friendly classes, considerable tutor and comfortable room.

The class that Anna runs is good because it is small and she has the time to go round people individually, making sure they’re doing the exercises correctly and if you’re not sure, you just ask and she’s there.

I find I have become more flexible as the months have passed.  This is something which, having reached retirement, I had not expected in such a relatively short time, especially as I only attend one class per week.

 

Also, I occasionally find that there has been a particular breakthrough for me in the level of exercise I am able to perform and this is confidence-building and encouraging.

"Improve core strength and more"

 

I started Pilates on the advice of my physiotherapist in the hope of improving my core strength to help with a back problem.  I really feel this is working well and I have gained so much more with improved posture and general fitness. I am now more aware of the way I am sitting, standing and walking. 

 

I have never done an exercise class before and was a little apprehensive about joining, but once I arrived I felt at ease straight away.  Anna is great and she makes sure everyone is happy and enjoying the class.

The thing I like most about it is that all the stretches and exercises I learn in class, I can use at home whenever I like.

The classes are small with friendly tuition, meaning there is time to learn the Pilates techniques.  Four months prior to starting Anna’s Pilates class, I had abdominal keyhole surgery and I used the class as an opportunity to test my core body strength. 

 

The gentleness of the Pilates class has helped my mobility and given me my confidence back.  It’s great getting to know my body with the Pilates movement philosophy of 'less is more' and I’m delighted to go to a class where I can listen, follow instructions, focus on the movements and relax with fellow Pilates newbies.

So far I have only attended 3 classes, and I am already experiencing less pain.  So needles to say I intend to continue with the classes.

 

I had been thinking about starting Pilates for several years when a friend recommended Anna's classes to me.

I was apprehensive about starting a class, and concerned that I might find some of the exercises difficult as I have osteoarthritis and a disc problem in my lower back.

I need not have worried, the classes are friendly and enjoyable and if you are unable to do a particular exercise Anna will adapt it to suit you.

Pilates is helping my core muscles support my back, which I have had problems with in the past and I have learnt the importance of breathing correctly during the exercises.

I really enjoy the Pilates sessions and because the classes are only small, you get lots of support and help to make sure you are doing the exercises correctly.  I really feel the benefit from the classes. 

 

The classes help me think more about my core and trying to use it more in normal everyday activities.  I had no idea what Pilates would be like before I joined, but Anna is so good at explaining what you need to do and why it makes it really easy to pick up. 

 

The main thing I have learnt is that the strength in your core really does help with movement and balance of the rest of your body!

The relaxed atmosphere, the flexibility of being able to join a catch up class if I miss one, the friendly teaching style and small classes so that you get plenty of attention.  The way Anna adapts exercises to suit you if you have an injury.  The exercises are also easy to do at home if you want so you can keep the good work going.

Made me much more conscious of my posture and improved it. My lower back feels stronger and I do not need to visit the osteopath quite so often.  It has given me back some control.

 

I have learned a neck stretch that really helps me at the end of a long working day as a massage therapist to ease out my own muscles and I really enjoy using a wobble board and stretching band at home.

"I am suffering fewer headaches and get better sleep"

I recently started Pilates on recommendation of my rheumatology consultant, GP and physiotherapist. I wasn't quite sure what to expect but knew I needed to do something to help manage the pain and stiffness in my muscles and joints.

​

I have found the classes to be very welcoming and friendly and there's definitely an air of relaxation which with a stressful job is a very welcome extra that I wasn't expecting.

​

I am really starting to benefit from the exercises which are helping loosen up my spine and shoulders particularly, and I'm suffering fewer headaches as a result.

​

I am finding myself much more aware of how I sit and stand, especially the bad habits that I have developed over many years which I am starting to correct. One additional benefit I wasn't expecting was the better quality of sleep following a class, which I'm really pleased about.
